Songsmith Ad Makes Me Want to Punch People

Songsmith. Decent idea, okay execution... terrible, awful, eye-bleeding ad. Seriously, videos like this make me wonder why no one throughout the entire process said "Hey, you know what? This is really a bad idea." Or if someone did say that, why did no one (or not enough people) agree and change the direction? It's almost like they're playing it tongue-in-cheek (glow-in-the-dark towels?), but didn't go far enough, so it just looks poorly directed, poorly acted, and makes me want to punch soneone... anyone.
